Nitartha Institute is looking for a
Summer Institute Coordinator!

Our staff and Executive Committee are looking forward to working together with a Summer Coordinator for this year’s online Institute! Ideally this year’s Coordinator would also be interested in organizing future Summer Institutes when they are held onsite at a location in the US.

The main work of the Coordinator occurs during the Summer Institute, though they will start preparing for the summer in close cooperation with Nitartha’s Executive Committee beginning in the spring of each year.

Nitartha’s 2022 Summer Institute will be held entirely online from July 1 to July 29.

Session 1: July 1 – July 9
Session 2: July 11 – July 19
Session 3: July 21 – July 29

Each day will likely run from approximately 7am PT to 7pm PT. Ideally the candidate is available for all three sessions, but full availability for Sessions 1 and 2 are mandatory.

Responsibilities:
This position is dedicated to the overall organization of the yearly Summer Institute (which is usually held in July) and works closely with Nitartha’s Executive Committee, faculty, translators, staff and volunteers.

The Coordinator’s role is to assign tasks to volunteers, organize zoom hosts and recorders, function as the MC and work closely with the registrar to make sure information is distributed in a timely manner throughout the summer.

During future onsite Summer Institutes, the responsibilities will also include housing arrangements for teachers, faculty and students, classroom arrangements, student orientation and assistance, and assigning and training mindful activity leaders.

Ideal candidate:
Excellent organizational and communication skills as well as a background in team leadership are required. Experience in event management is also a plus. The candidate must have the ability to work well independently as well as with a dynamic team of administrators, faculty, staff and volunteers. As the 2022 Summer Institute will be entirely online, ideally the candidate is already familiar with Zoom and organizing online events. Candidates should be familiar with Nitartha, the Summer Institute program and our curriculum.

Benefits:
The benefits include an hourly pay of US$20 dollars and free attendance at the Summer Institute.

Time commitment:
Ideally, we would like someone to join us as soon as possible to start training. Currently, this position requires an estimated 5-10 hours per week. It will get busier in June, withthe bulk of the work to be done in July.
