Madhyamakāvatāra IV: Entrance to the Middle Way

Live Online Course Faculty: Dr. Phil Stanley

Original Faculty: Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche

This course is based on the recordings and transcripts of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche's oral teachings on Chandrakīrti’s root text Madhyamakāvatāra in 1999 and 2000, using the commentary by the Eight Karmapa, Mikyö Dorje (1507-1554).

We will first complete chapter 6 on prajñā, specifically the sections on the refutation of a self of persons and the presentation of the sixteen emptiness. Then we will complete the rest of the text that is on bhūmis 7-10, namely, the perfections of skillful means, aspirations, power, and wisdom, the latter of which includes a presentation of the three kāyas and the state of Buddhahood.
